Mel Brooks’ book is a fun read and a great historical perspective on comedy. What a legend.

I recommend re-watching a few of his movies beforehand since he has so many great backstories.

I’m fascinated by Third Man Syndrome — now you have me trying to recall books I’ve read where this device has occurred.

The Szymborska quote resonated with me on a very personal level as I was immediately reminded of the imagination, curiosity, love, and humanity my oncologist brings to medicine — there is such passion and artistry in his approach to healing. Thanks so much for sharing those words — I will hereafter look for that artistry and adventurous spirit in others where I might not have expected it.

By the way, having you lead us down a connective tissue rabbit hole was brilliant … I certainly hope you utilize this method now and again in future newsletters.
