I’m on an end-of-month deadline for my book with Elissa Bassist, INSIDE JOKES: A COMEDY AND CREATIVITY GUIDE FOR ALL WRITERS. I’ll be back soon to talk input/output for a new year—in the meantime, here are my Q1 classes. I’ll be opening up again to consults after the deadline as well!
Q1 Classes
Stop Worrying and Write Your Book Proposal! February 8, 1:00-4:00 pm ET, $125. This is the only time I’m teaching this class this year. Not recorded because we start everyone’s proposals and get you going. Students from this exact class have gone on to get lit agents, sell their projects, and get six figure deals. I’ve sold two books off proposal so I do know my stuff! If you want to get going on a proposal of your own but can’t make the class time, respond to this email and we can work something out.
NEW CLASS: Mine Your Life for Funny Ideas, March 2, 2025, 1-3pm ET** (online, $75, class recap comes with slides) Let’s start at the beginning: where do funny ideas come from? We’ll use lists, brainstorming, prompts, and exercises so you leave with a bunch of fleshed out ideas and premises for future funny writing.
**if you can’t attend live, a recording will be sent out following the class
Comedy Writing for Non-Comedians, March 16, 2025, 1-3pm ET** (online, $75, class recap comes with slides) From the rule of three to learning what the heck a callback is, learn how to be funnier on paper…and maybe even in real life! Perfect for fiction and nonfiction writers, as well as those trying to inject more humor into jobs like content writing, copywriting, and more.
**if you can’t attend live, a recording will be sent out following the class

Hi Caitlin! I was just wondering if you'll have more classes coming soon? I'm so bummed I missed the one about mining your life for funny ideas. My next book to publish is humorous, but I still have doubts about my abilities to be funny, so... you know, looking for all the help I can get 🙃
Excited for the Mine Your Life for Funny Ideas course! 😊
