I love the year end recap, thank you for sharing! Such a useful reminder about how easy it is to emphasize what we didn’t do over what we did. I generally track input/output in my paper journals, which makes it harder to do a year at a glance...tempted to try digital for next year
I used to be fully pen and paper, but I find if I constantly leave my tracking doc open on my computer as a tab I can be a lot more consistent, especially with capturing links of online stories. But to each their own! Btw, I love NSFW, I recommend it to people all the time!
I usually put links to online stories in my phone Notes app and then can never find them later. Your version sounds better. I’m so glad you liked NSFW - thank you for recommending it!!
Love all of this, and can't wait for your novel. Huge congratulations on a year sober. And "The Optimal Life Can Be Yours" cracked me up -- I had so many conversations when I worked at a big law firm where men would inform me about their secret life hack of having a wife who took care of every non-work aspect of their life. Anything resembling "deep work" and C*l N*wport drive me crazy for the same reason. I have not done a roundup like this yet, but I always find it useful at the end of the year -- you're reminding me I should do it!
Not bad so far. Got stuck on the books I've read when I looked at the piles I've been given or have (godammit) bought, which are still in piles on shelves, bedside table, floors.. Brief panic attack, but I'll try again tomorrow...
No, but I'll put in on the list! I think TITF is one you have to be totally in the right headspace for, and I started reading it at 10am on a Sunday...I think it's a nighttime book!
exciting news about being out on submission !
Yes, more soon :)
"Pretty much completed another book proposal and promptly lost interest in the topic" is so damn relatable
Ha, you know! I might go back to it, might not, but always good to keep that platform and clips section updated...

I liked 'Tender is the Flesh' but didn't find it groundbreaking. Have you read 'My Murder' by Katie Williams? I'm enjoying it.
No, but the premise is VERY intriguing!
So cool, Caitlin. Thanks for sharing. It makes me want to take stock myself!
Do it! That's what the doc is for!
So proud of you, Caitlin! And how wonderful to take stock and see how much you actually accomplished. <3
Thank you, Hannah! Glad I didn't let my brain fool myself.

Please do! I bet you've achieved a ton this year, and it also helps make goals for the following year.
Write a roundup of what you've accomplished this year. I'm on it. Great idea.
Let me know how it goes for you!

Also, I loved Tender is the Flesh! Have you read Mother For Dinner by Shalom Auslander?

I'm so glad you're on the mend and I realllly appreciate your sharing xo
